Feature Type: Water Trail: Ravenwolf Falls Trail Region: Wetlands Elevation: 1190′ Named for: David Hoctor |
Ravenwolf Falls is a 12-foot waterfall in the Wetlands region and is the largest active falls in the Little Wolf Preserve. Ravenwolf Falls runs continuously during wet times and after a heavy rainfall.
All of the water from the north side of Little Wolf Mountain collects and runs down the giant V gorge in the center of the Preserve into the Rocky Branch stream. This stream then drops underground and emerges from springs just above Ravenwolf Falls, providing a regular flow of water for the falls.

Ravenwolf Falls in Winter

Ravenwolf Falls flows well in winter after a good snow, and occasionally large icicles will form. Here Timm & Darby stand above Ravenwolf Falls.
